Release stadium tender results

Author: Colin Craig 2010/10/12
  • Voters should be given stadium tender figures before election

The Canadian Taxpayers Federation (CTF) is calling on the City and Province to publicly release the tender results for the new stadium project. According to media reports, the tenders closed almost two weeks ago.

“The revised cost for the stadium should be shared with taxpayers immediately,” said CTF Prairie Director Colin Craig. “The sooner voters know the true cost, the sooner they can grill council council candidates on the matter and take their positions into consideration when voting.”

“It’s unfortunate that neither the province nor the city decided to hold a referendum for this project,” continued Craig.  “The least they should be doing is letting voters, and the candidates, see the true costs for which taxpayers are on the hook.”
